Delegates came together from all of South Africa – north to south, east to west, from neighbouring countries, and from as far as the UAE.
Prof Beth Barstow and Dr. Jason Vice (University of Alabama, Birmingham) proceeded to present four very full days of up-to-date, relevant information, including tips, sharing, and advice. Interactions and discussions resulted in very lively, stimulating proceedings. Wendy Histed gave a fascinating, thought-provoking talk on ethics.
All proceedings were very participative and culminated with a hands-on day, where everyone had the opportunity to handle and experience the wide variety of equipment they may read about on the Internet.
The days flew by, and were possibly best summarised by a comment from one of the delegates:“My attention did not wander once during the four days”
Plans are already underway for next year.
