On Thursday 28 March 2024, past presidents, residing in Gauteng, joined the current SAOA President, CEO ,SAOA Board and staff members, regional representatives, committee members, and others to toast the SAOA and pay tribute to SAOA members past and present, in celebration of the SAOA’s 100 year anniversary in advance of the actual birthday which is commemorated on 31 March ( which fell on the Sunday during the Easter week-end ).
Long-standing, ‘veteran’ SAOA member, Harry Tambourlas, with his golden voice, accompanied by pianist, Neal Robertson, entertained those present, who danced and cheered in appreciation of the music. Harry led the singing of ‘Happy Birthday, following a brief speech by SAOA President, Nivien Subramany, who also cut the cake. The décor, cake, branded cookies, arranged by SAOA Marketing and Membership Manager, Thivasha Reddy, all added to the ambience and spirit of a very special occasion.
